Award categories include: Business of the Year Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Renaissance Award, Award for Resilience, and the #LoveBFT Award presented by Bellefonte.com.

Winners of this year’s awards will be announced starting at 6:30 p.m. during Friday in the ‘Fonte events in Talleyrand Park, during a short ceremony at the gazebo. Awards will be presented by members of the Downtown Bellefonte Inc. Board of Directors.

Friday in the ‘Fonte festivities kick-off for the first time this year at 5 p.m. on May 27 in Talleyrand Park. Friday in the ‘Fonte is a free event in Downtown Bellefonte that is held annually on the last Friday of May, June, July, September, and October.

Visitors and residents are invited to enjoy live music featuring the Stacy Tibbetts Trio, pop-up vendors, and activities in Talleyrand Park through 8 p.m. Grab takeout from your favorite downtown restaurant or enjoy food options at the park while sipping on a craft beverage from Big Spring Spirits and Axemann Brewery.

On May 27, Friday in the ‘Fonte will commence with a National and State Park-theme and will feature two organizations that are committed to educating the public about these natural assets. Bellefonte READS is an organization that strives to foster a love of literacy in the local community. Each year, they hold their “One Book, One Bellefonte” program that works to put quality books in the hands of children and families. In conjunction with their book program, Bellefonte READS will be in Talleyrand Park on May 27th with activities for children to learn more about the parks. The organization will also raffle off a basket filled with this year's entire 5-book collection. On the same night, Bellefonte READS and The Governors’ Pub & Talleyrand Tavern have teamed up to host a family-friendly night of National Parks-themed trivia. Trivia will be from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m at The Talleyrand Tavern; call to reserve your table early.

Pennsylvania Master Naturalists will also be set up in the park with a children’s activity. Their mission is to train a knowledgeable corps of citizen volunteers in the natural sciences to protect the natural world around them. Volunteers perform conservation service by stewarding streamside buffers, installing and monitoring bird habitats, leading nature hikes, planting trees and native wildflowers, and educating the community about nature.

Sunset Slush, Bees Knees Coffee, Happy Wraps, Belle Mercantile, Fez Records, Federalist Studios, Sisters’ Sunflowers, Prachi’s Bohemian Art, Rivera Artistry, Keystone Cultures, Blackbranch Farm and Pole Cat Hollow Farm are a sampling of the vendors that will be in attendance. The DBI table will have a collection bin for empty cereal boxes that will be sent to Jabebo Studios for use in their earring production. Local Historia will be offering free historical walking tours and Felicity’s Pet Supplies will have treats for the four-legged guests in attendance.
