It is Happy Valley Restaurant Week!
THIS WEEK, through June 27, diners can visit more than 20 restaurants on the list to seek out new flavors, like the Beef Heart Tostada at new kid on the block Pine Grove Hall. Chef Tory Glossner’s love of local sourcing and bringing global flavors to the plate led him to create this dish that he says is perfect for crunching on the patio while drinking a beer (also local, of course).
For those with a sweet tooth, State Burger Co. went all out on its HVRW dish, creating a milkshake special called the Coco Berry Breeze. A coconut strawberry milkshake is topped with a piece of coconut cake and a lemon cake ball for a decadent but refreshing summertime treat.

Eaters might also want to check out places they haven’t been for a while, like The Corner Room, which, along with sister restaurants the Allen Street Grill, Chumley’s and Bill Pickle’s Taproom, are under new management and completely renovated. For a serious taste of summer, check out the Cod and Shrimp Cakes with summer squash salsa and green goddess sauce.

And there’s no better time to check out a longtime favorite of locals, Kimchi Korean Restaurant. For HVRW, their special is Sweet and Sour Pork, a classic dish with crunchy pork and veggies covered in perfectly balanced homemade sauce.
