Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra Offers Free Concert March 22, 2025

Calling music lovers of all ages! Come experience the sights and sounds of the orchestra up close at a FREE family concert. Featuring music from The Incredibles, Frozen, Mozart, and more, this one-hour concert is sure to be a hit for the whole family. Stay post-concert and visit the Instrument Petting Zoo presented by The Music Academy, where kids can try out instruments and learn about music education opportunities.

THE PENNSYLVANIA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA (PCO)
PCO is the region’s leading all-professional chamber orchestra, providing artistically superb concerts and a variety of educational and community outreach opportunities under the direction of music director Gerardo Edelstein. The PCO presents three season concerts of dynamic musical selections, highlighting local and international soloists, as well as holiday, family, and educational performances in a variety of venues around Central PA.

Fernanda Lastra
holds the position of Assistant Conductor, Diversity Fellow for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the mentorship of JoAnn Falletta. Born in Mar del Plata, Argentina, she is a passionate and creative conductor recognized for her artistic leadership and engaging performances.

The Music Academy
For more than 60 years, The Music Academy has been the region's leading nonprofit community music school, serving students of all ages and skill levels in Central Pennsylvania. With more than 200 students presently enrolled, The Music Academy seeks to create a supportive, nurturing environment, where all students are encouraged to realize their personal best, whether they are seeking a musical career, cultivating a new interest, or "playing for fun." Passionate and dedicated faculty members hold degrees (many of them advanced) in the instruments they teach, ensuring that students and families will receive the highest level of instruction available. Offerings at The Music Academy include private lessons for children and adults in more than 20+ instruments, early childhood group classes for ages 0- 9, a Suzuki program for beginner string students, and a newly announced Chamber Music Institute with music theory course and chamber music instruction. Summer 2025 offerings include a Beginner Guitar Camp (ages 7-13) and Introduction to Keyboard Camp (ages 7+).
