The Adventure Hunt is On!

The Spikes and The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau are gearing up for a quest unlike any other as part of Adventure Night at Medlar Field on Saturday, June 24. The Adventure Night festivities will serve as the culmination of an Adventure Hunt that spans Happy Valley, with fans seeking the treasures that abound throughout the area – the Rowland Theatre in Philipsburg, the Nittany Lion Shrine, the Centennial Pigs in Downtown State College, Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte, Penn's Cave Farm-Nature-Wildlife Park, and the Pennsylvania Military Museum - and sending their photos to the Spikes and The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau on social media.

One lucky fan that completes the Adventure Hunt being chosen to win the $1,000 Grand Prize Treasure Chest, which features prizes from the State College Spikes, The Tavern Restaurant, Downtown Bellefonte, Downtown State College, Tait Farm Foods, Penn's Cave Farm-Nature-Wildlife Park, Central PA 4th Fest, and the Rowland Theatre.

Plus, the first 100 fans to complete the Adventure Hunt will all receive special Spikes/HVAB Fedoras and tickets to the June 24 game, just in time to catch the latest installment of the Indiana Jones franchise in theaters premiering on June 30!

Collect your Adventure Hunt Map by heading to The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau in Downtown State College (204 West Beaver Avenue), Historic Train Station at 320 West High Street in Bellefonte, the Moshannon Valley Heritage Center, 22 North Front Street in Philipsburg, and Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

451 volunteers clear 12,541 pounds of trash during ClearWater Conservancy’s 26th Annual Watershed Cleanup Day

(CENTRE COUNTY) -- ClearWater Conservancy celebrated Earth Day weekend on April 23 alongside 451 community volunteers at its 26th Annual Watershed Cleanup Day. Volunteers gathered at 45 sites throughout Centre County to clean up trash and litter so that it could be properly cleared from stream sides and open spaces and disposed of properly. This year, volunteers collected 12,541 pounds of trash from Centre County from sites in the Spring Creek, Spruce Creek, and Bald Eagle Creek Watersheds.

Palmer Museum of Art prepares for transition to new museum in 2023

In early 2023, the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State will begin a phased transition as it prepares to move from its existing building into its new facility currently under construction at the Arboretum. The changeover will start in January with the closing of the museum’s second floor and a major reinstallation of the first-floor galleries before the final closure of the current building on May 14, 2023. The new museum will open to the public in spring 2024.
