Art is in the Air during the Summer of 2025 in Happy Valley!

– by Thomas Range II

It's that time of year again! The sun is shining, and summer is upon us! And as always, Happy Valley boasts four of the most dynamic Art Festivals in the state of Pennsylvania.

Artsfest

Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts

The granddaddy of them all in the area is the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. The vendor booths snake through downtown State College and the Penn State Campus at University Park.

Over the past 59 years, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has become one of the top-ranked juried art fairs in the country, the highlight of the State College summer, one of the biggest non-football alumni weekends for Penn Staters, the summer’s economic anchor for downtown State College businesses, and the place to be for art, music, and fun the week after Independence Day.

For many of the 125,000+ visitors and hundreds of volunteers each year, the Arts Festival is an enduring tradition, experienced with friends and family, and not to be missed.

A highlight of the festival is the free Limited-Edition posters that are currently available at some downtown businesses or at the Happy Valley Adventure Bureau's Downtown and Bellefonte stores.

The festival will take place June 9-13, 2025 with the Children and Youth Sidewalk sale taking place on Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm. For more information about the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts click here.

002 Peoples Choice

People's Choice Festival of Pennsylvania Arts and Crafts

It’s been over two decades since a handful of volunteers got together to create a homegrown arts festival. In 1993, there were 50 vendors, a couple of food stands, and a few live bands. Now it’s one of the largest and most family-friendly arts festivals in central Pennsylvania – attracting more than 110,000 visitors over a four-day period. This year the People’s Choice Festival of Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts features nearly 200 artists, about two dozen food vendors, and 40 acts..

Originally on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum, the past few festivals were held at the Grange Fair Grounds in Centre Hall, Pa. This year's festival returns to the fairgrounds on June 10-13, 2025,
