Centre Hall, PA: A Small Town with Big Events and Attractions
Don’t let this small town of 1,500 fool you, Centre Hall hosts some of the most well-attended events in Centre County. Located just a few miles from Penn State University, the town boasts delicious restaurants, places to stay, attractions, and some one-of-a-kind events.

Grange Fair
The biggest event of the year in Centre Hall would be the Centre County Grange Fair. Thousands of attendees “move in” to the fairgrounds and stay for at least ten days to enjoy the fair. It is the only tent fair in the nation and the tents have been handed down to family members for generations. Fair-goers not lucky enough to get one of the 1,000 tents available (there is a waiting list) can rent one of the 1500 RV spaces. Of course, people can come to the fair for just a day if they want.
The fair boasts live concerts, horse shows, tractor pulls, two amusement companies (Garbrick and Bartlebaugh Rides), animal contests and shows, amazing food and concessions, numerous vendors, a parade plus many other events. The fairground is so large that trams are offered to attendees to move around the park!
The 2025 Centre County Grange Fair will be held from August 15th to August 23rd.

Some Small-Town Extras
If the above events aren’t enough to entice you to come visit Centre Hall, how about some attractions, a place to stay and a place to eat?
The Keller House Bed and Breakfast is located right in town at 109 W. Church St. Want a taste of small-town living? The Keller House is the perfect place. With five themed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite private bathroom, the Keller House is the perfect place to relax and prepare for your next adventure.
Next door to the Keller House is Brothers Pizza and Italian Cuisine, owned and operated by Rose and Eddie Nicolosi. This is no ordinary pizza parlor; Brothers has an origin rich in tradition. In the 1950s, Rose's father, Angelo, and his two brothers opened a pizza shop in Brooklyn, N.Y., which has since added locations in Long Island, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Items on the menu range from appetizers, soups, and salads to pizzas and imported pasta. The Nicolosi's offer whole wheat and gluten-free options, and they top them with fresh, handmade meatballs and the best quality cheeses available. Family favorites include handmade lasagna made-to-order, smoked salmon pasta, chicken marsala, and, of course, stromboli and calzones. "We don't skimp on quality," Eddie says.
After eating, why don’t you take a stroll up to The Beaten Path or a short drive to Penn’s Cave?
The Beaten Path, located at 112 E. Church St., is an antique store that specializes in Eclectic Resale. It offers clean, contemporary household decor, antiques, vintage and retro items, jewelry, art, furniture, textiles, lighting, garden items in good condition, and everything else!
Located just five miles from the heart of town, at 222 Penn’s Cave Rd., Penn’s Cave and Wildlife Park is a national treasure! Penn's Cave is America's only all-water cavern and farm-nature-wildlife park. Adventures below ground and above ground! The park offers unique experiences the whole family will love, including two fully guided tours: the all-water cavern, given entirely by boat, and the farm-nature-wildlife park tour, given entirely by bus. There is also a large gift shop, gemstone panning, and a maze.
Penn’s Cave is open all summer long, but make sure you check the cave’s website for hours of operation during late Fall, Winter, and early Spring.
With all the above events and attractions, it is no wonder that Centre Hall is sometimes known as Centre County’s Hidden Gem! Come out and enjoy yourself in Centre Hall! The Mayor of Centre Hall, LeDon Young, sums it up well when she says, "Centre Hall is in the center of it all!"
