One of the most electrifying and visionary artists in contemporary music is coming to downtown State College. On Thursday, September 4, GRAMMY-nominated drummer, producer, and composer Kassa Overall brings his critically acclaimed CREAM Tour to Manny’s Live Performance Space, offering an intimate, high-voltage night of musical innovation.

Fresh off a breakout year—including a 2024 Herb Alpert Award in the Arts and the prestigious 2025 Doris Duke Artist Award—Kassa arrives at Manny’s with a powerful new project in tow. His new record, CREAM, is a fearless reimagining of hip-hop’s golden age through the lens of experimental jazz, electronic production, and virtuosic rhythm.

The album dives deep into iconic tracks by The Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, A Tribe Called Quest, OutKast, Digable Planets, and Juvenile—radically reshaping them with Kassa’s unmistakable style. The result is part homage, part reinvention: a vibrant, genre-defying soundscape that honors the legacy of hip-hop while pushing its future forward.
