The Downtown State College Improvement District (DSCID) and the Borough of State College are excited to announce a special initiative aimed at invigorating the downtown area following a challenging construction season. From August 6 to August 18, 2024, all municipal parking, meters, lots, and garages will offer free 2-hour parking.

This program is designed to encourage residents and visitors to rediscover and support the vibrant local businesses that make State College unique. With the summer winding down and students preparing to return for the fall semester, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the eclectic range of boutiques and diverse dining options that downtown has to offer.

“We’re thrilled to provide this opportunity for our community to enjoy everything downtown has to offer,” said Lee Anne Jeffries, Executive Director of DSCID. “After a season of construction disruptions, we hope this initiative will make it easier for the community to explore and support our local businesses.”
