Performing on the Schwab stage is State College Musician Joe Downs and Spoken Word Poet Colby Khloer.

To attend On The Horizon, attendees must pre-register using this link. Schwab’s front doors open at 9 a.m., with the event to begin at 9:30 a.m. An intermission luncheon will be provided a few steps away in the Kunkle Lounge within the Sackett Building. Food and coffee will be provided by Saxbys.

Inspired by TEDx conferences across the globe, the TEDxPSU team titles their conference each year to encapsulate the meaning behind each talk. “Exploring our horizons help us approach personal and societal potential while grounding ourselves in tomorrow’s frontier,” said TEDxPSU President Abby Jarecki on what On The Horizon means to the organization.

“The ideas you will hear at our conference are rooted in research and data, as well as insights on the human experience,” said TEDxPSU Head Talent Director Abby Waterhouse. “We analyze the days of the past, critique the urgency of today, and seek solutions for the future’s promises by challenging norms and discovering new perspectives.”

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED
