Shallow Alcove
Sunday, May 4 - 6 pm to 8 pm - $22

Shallow Alcove is an up-and-coming indie band fronted by Grace Krichbaum and Dan Harris, with Peter Groppe, Jack Harrington, and Noah Dardaris.

They combine stacked vocal harmonies, catchy guitar riffs, and diary-like lyrics, forming a tender soundtrack to young adulthood. Shallow Alcove’s music is based in their love of DIY folk music and colored with narratives of friendship, the changing of the seasons, bad haircuts, and the ache of growing up.

What started as friends writing songs in the bedrooms and basements of Upstate New York has since shifted to the apartments and studios of New York City and Philadelphia. Still, Shallow Alcove’s roots have remained the same: storytelling with the people they love.

Acoustic Nomads
Friday, May 30 - 7 pm to 9 pm - $22

At the crossroads of South American folk music and Northern Americana, Acoustic Nomads, a rising star band, is taking the acoustic music scene by storm. Acoustic Nomads interweaves contemporary improvisation and newgrass with folkloric traditions from North and South America, with influences from Appalachia to Argentina.

The band's unique sound results from the players harnessing these varied musical interests and joyously exploring uncharted musical territory together. Since forming in 2019, Acoustic Nomads has headlined performances at WBUR Cityspace in Boston, Club Passim in Cambridge, Hartford’s Baby Grand Jazz Series, Arts at the Armory in Somerville, Barnarts’ Feast & Field Series in Barnard VT, and performed at major bluegrass festivals including Freshgrass, Grey Fox, and Joe Val.

Their performances maintain the spirit of folkloric music while delving into modern jazz improvisation and sophisticated chamber music arrangements, showing how different cultures can unite and celebrate humanity through art.
