In early 2023, the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State will begin a phased transition as it prepares to move from its existing building into its new facility currently under construction at the Arboretum. The changeover will start in January with the closing of the museum’s second floor and a major reinstallation of the first-floor galleries before the final closure of the current building on May 14, 2023. The new museum will open to the public in spring 2024.

Tempest Productions has a new home. The not for profit professional theatre company is now located in the former Movement Arts Studio on Kelly Avenue, in MLK Plaza in downtown State College.
Rick Bryant, the executive director of the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has announced that he’s retiring from the organization at the end of January 2023.
State College, PA.— The 2022 Centre Film Festival will feature some of the most important and most talked about films of the year. This year’s selection of feature films, documentaries, fictional shorts, experimental narratives and more, will screen at the State Theatre in State College and in Phillipsburg’s historical Rowland Theatre from October 31 to November 6.

The Boalsburg Renaissance Faire includes a wide range of arts and crafts vendors and demonstrations; sword-fighting, dueling, archery, and axe-throwing demonstrations; a bounce house and petting zoos, including unicorns; carriage rides; live music and dance performances; crafts, games, and wandering minstrels; and special museum tours of the Boal Mansion Armory and the Columbus Chapel. An array of food trucks and food vendors round out this day-long celebration of the museum’s European heritage.
