Downtown State College still busy in November

Just because the football season is winding down, it doesn't mean Downtown State College will stop being the place to go in November! Travelers will have plenty of things to do culminating with the release of the 4th Annual Happy Valley Holiday Ornament on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday on the 30th.

Light Up Night

Thursday, November 21 | 5-8pm
100 Block Allen St & MLK Plaza

Kick off the holiday season with Light Up Night on Thursday, November 21 from 5-8pm on Fraser Street’s MLK Plaza and the 100 block of Allen Street in Downtown State College!

Enjoy a winter carnival with hot drinks, visits with Santa, free trolley rides, performances, catch the new holiday lighting display, and much more!

Get a jump on your holiday shopping at our local Artisan Market and stop by to visit with live reindeer and learn more about these fascinating creatures!

The night culminates with Santa and one lucky child lighting the evergreen tree at the Allen Street Gates! Bring a toy for Toys for Tots or a non-perishable food item for the YMCA Backpack Program by 7pm, and your child will be entered for a chance to help Santa light the tree.

Happy Valley Holiday Ornament

Announcing our 4th Annual Happy Valley Holiday Ornament - the iconic Centennial Pigs sculpture in Pat Daugherty Walkway! Centennial Pigs is a bronze sculpture by artist Eric Berg, put in place as part of the 1996 State College Centennial Celebration.

We plan to launch ornament sales in participating downtown businesses on Black Friday this year. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for more information on where you can get yours in a few weeks!
