The Emmy Award-winning Netflix Original documentary series “Our Planet” has been transformed into “Our Planet Live in Concert.” The Center for the Performing Arts will host the breathtaking audio-visual event at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in Eisenhower Auditorium.

Event based on Emmy Award-Winning Netflix Original Documentary series features on-screen narration by William Shatner and David Attenborough and the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra performing compositions by Oscar Award winner Steven Price.

Like the Netflix series, the live show is narrated on screen by Sir David Attenborough, who has inspired millions by bringing the natural world to one’s living room. Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner will co-narrate the program.

Tickets are $39 for an adult, $15 for a University Park student, and $22 for a person 18 and younger and are available for purchase online. Tickets are also available by calling 814-863-0255 or in person, weekdays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., at Eisenhower Auditorium.

A collaboration between GEALive, Silverback Films and World Wildlife Fund, “Our Planet Live in Concert” combines high-quality live elements with a fusion of breathtaking cinematography projected on a large HD screen. “Our Planet” blends spectacular wildlife footage with the mysteries of how and why animals migrate. The program features stunning imagery of the Earth’s most beautiful, intriguing and surprising wildlife as it follows animals on the move from plains to frozen worlds to high seas and beyond.

The breathtaking cinematography is paired with new orchestrations by Oscar Award-winning composer Steven Price performed live by a touring ensemble enhanced by members of the Penn State Philharmonic Orchestra. Shatner’s narration provides bridges between the visually stunning nature imagery.

“There are moments when you might laugh and moments where you might cry, but really we’re looking to celebrate the beautiful planet we share and send people home with optimism,” Price said. “Finding a way to strike the right balance musically was something I spent a lot of time on.

A donation will be made to the World Wildlife Fund for each concert on the tour.
