Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra Offers Folk and Dance Music
Be inspired to get up and dance as you are transported to Spain, Romania, and beyond! The Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra opens the season in Spain with Manuel de Falla’s comedic Three Cornered Hat Suite, followed by American composer Aaron Copland’s Old American Songs featuring baritone soloist Michael Hanley. Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances will immerse you in the folk music of Transylvania, and this concert ends with Schubert’s energizing Symphony No. 3. Get ready to tap your feet and cheer with this season opener.
The Program will consist of:
- Manuel de Falla – The Three-Cornered Hat, Suite No. 1
- Aaron Copland – Old American Songs, Set 1, featuring Michael Hanley, baritone
- Béla Bartók – Romanian Folk Dances
- Franz Schubert – Symphony No. 3
*Concert to last approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission
The performance will take place at Penn State Recital Hall on Sunday, September 15, 2025 at 3 pm.
