After three years, The Central PA 4thFest is elated to announce a full day of family friendly activities and events, and what will officially be the largest fireworks display in Pennsylvania.

(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) – SpikesFest 2023 presented by Mount Nittany Health and media sponsors Seven Mountains Media and WTAJ is coming back to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., headlining a unique doubleheader at the home of the State College Spikes and Penn State Baseball. The Spikes’ annual family event will lead up to Penn State Baseball’s 2 p.m. game against Delaware State on the same date, and admission is free for both SpikesFest and the Penn State game.

(STATE COLLEGE, Pa.) – The State College Spikes 2023 coaching staff has been rounded out as former MLB pitcher Jerome Williams, along with former MLB draft picks Tim Battle Jr. and Jesus Azuaje, will serve under manager Dave Trembley for the upcoming MLB Draft League season.

When Tanya Campbell was a little girl, her grandmother walked her dogs on Charcoal Flats, a trail in Shingletown. Tanya, her mother, and her daughter also enjoyed hiking along this same trail. The trail, just past Pine Grove Mills near the small town of Shingletown, is known for its series of four charcoal flats — large, circular flat areas where logs would be piled and allowed to smolder to create and one that was used to make iron ore. Or, in the words of little girl Tanya, it’s a place that is “rocky and awesome.”
