For the last several years, Happy Valley Restaurant Week (the revamped take on the prior Happy Valley Culinary Week) has delighted Centre County residents and visitors alike with can’t-miss culinary offerings from the region’s best restaurants. After Sarah Anne Wharton graduated from Juniata College, she launched to Maine, New Mexico and Brooklyn, New York, never expecting to land back in Central Pennsylvania. Today, she proudly calls herself a Happy Valley local. She’s a champion for the area’s unique mix of outdoor adventure, vibrant research and — as communications specialist for the Palmer Museum of Art — art for everyone.

State College Spikes fans will have a wide variety of promotions and special events to look forward to during a 40-game home schedule this summer, highlighted by 12 fantastic FIREWORKS shows, a slate of legendary bobbleheads, and the return of $1 Beer Nights.

In opening Juana’s Cuisine in downtown State College, owner Ady Martinez wanted to bring more than Venezuelan food and culture to Happy Valley, PA. She wanted to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who walk through the door of the cozy, lively restaurant on Fraser Street.

Snow Shoe’s Rails to Trails continues to grow by leaps and bounds. In December of 2021, the SSRTA was notified that it would be receiving grant funding through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Those grants totaled $258,600, which enabled the group to purchase three key pieces of equipment that will help maintain the trail.

Book lovers, unite! Members of AAUW State College, a group advancing equity for women and girls, is putting the finishing touches on their annual Used Book Sale, to take place in the Penn State Snider Ag Arena May 13-16, 2023.
